Hew's Little Monica type B body arrived a few days ago. I've not gotten around to resizing the photos from the quick box opening, but I'm just really happy with how prominent his collarbones are, even compared to Sion's body (LM type A). I'm not too sure why type A and B's collarbones differ so much, lol. And type B has a much flatter tummy too. I poked Sion and told him he was fat, which isn't entirely true, but isn't exactly false if you compared it with Hew's. Haha. Yeah, I do talk to my dolls sometimes, mostly to tease them. I don't have conversations with them though, cos that will be weird.

Nat's faceup update :D

Cats10 just PMed me a photo of Nat's faceup and I am so happy with it. He's smiling so widely, like what I usually draw him as. :D I can't wait to see him all finished and glossed up. Wooooo~

Tree Design brief review

I didn't intend to do a review but I was opening the clothes with my camera at my side, so I figured, why not?


Tree Design pretty much shipped my order ON the day I ordered and paid for the item, which really impresses me. They shipped the clothes in this small cardboard box. I was kind of surprised that the tape they use tears really easily once you cut it. But I tried tearing without cutting first and found it impossible, so I think it's a nice type of tape to use, for people like me who hate cutting apart the tape. Haha.


Sion was kind of just draped in his jacket waiting lol. I was lazy to put him back in when I'm going to change him out.


The items I ordered, plus a free gift. The white tiger shirt is a tshirt by the way. The sleeves are folded behind. The ice-blue jeans in the middle is really really a nice colour. It's currently the lightest pair of jeans I have for them. :D


Anyway, this was actually the first thing I saw when I opened the box, except this green sticker was facing downwards, and my first thought was, "Oh crap, I don't think I ordered this! Did they mess up my order?" Hahaha. But yeah, turned it around and found a gift :D


A nice touch is the tag they have for ALL the items. You have to cut the thing off/pull it out as you would for human clothing. It looks nice, but frankly after cutting the tag off for 6 items, I was kind of wishing they didn't put that tag thing.


Tag on the inside too. I do love the label in the shirt though. Cos I don't need to cut it away, haha.

And some photos of Sion (Little Monica type A body) wearing the jeans. It's called joyful jeans on their website, I think (you'll know why when you see the back pocket). It's tight on SD13 as shown on their website, so I was pretty much counting on it to be skinnies for LM. And I was right :D I got out of the baggy jeans phase for my dolls for now.

But the back is a bit loose. I don't really mind though, if it means Dennis (who's on a SD13 body) can wear it too. And yes, the brown tag says "2010 NEW, Tree Design" and you see the reason why it's called "Joyful jeans"? ;)

Hew's actual body (he's using Nat's right now) is shipped! :D So he'll be getting his own body soon, woohoo. LM type B. I'll be doing a comparison between LM type A and B hopefully sometime next week after Hew's body arrives. Yup. And Nat's faceup is at 50% now. I'm missing Nat so much. :< More so when I look at this group photo without him.

My orders from tree design arrived today! So fast, haha. I'm blogging without even taking any photos of anything, because I'm really pleasantly surprised by the fact that they gave an extra tshirt as a gift :D The shirt they gave is priced at 19USD, so I'm really quite surprised. I mean, as a free gift, you can always give the cheapest item e.g. the tank top, and you'll still make your customers really happy, no? But now I'm SUPER happy, hahaha. Mainly cos I wanted the tshirt too, but didn't want to spend too much. :\

Okay, update: I just bought a Zaoll Muse head :D
He has no teeth part, so I'll need to come up with something for that. The previous owner used white eye putty, but I want to see if I can use air dry clay to make something more permanent (less prone to me redoing all the time?). I've got no body for him to use, cos everyone has thick necks. 10cm is the thinnest, except for Gabby, who is white skin and uses the type 2 neck mechanism that's a bitch to get off. So yeah. Unless I can find a cheap body for him, he'll probably be bodiless for a while. Join the floating heads crew (2 of which are still not here. Leeke probably has a backlog??).

I don't know why but throughout the whole shoot, I felt like Sion wearing these specs, even though they aren't round, looks like Harry Potter. If Harry has a lip piercing, that is. And I keep thinking, damn, and Gabby has blond hair like Draco. I like Draco-Harry pairing more than Harry-Draco though, so.

Yeah, that's the sort of weird thoughts that go on in my head while I was taking photos.

I just ordered from tree design (click for English site) today and they've shipped the orders out already?! It's the first time any company shipped so fast. Tracking says it's posted only, but still. :D Maybe my dolls will actually get some new clothes to wear before I go for Uni, where I won't be bringing them cos I feel it's unsafe to leave them in the hostel.

I brought Sion to Cosfest yesterday, but barely took any photos. I did see some local doll owners though. Also spoke to this girl (can't remember who) who was either cosplaying or a friend of a cosplayer, and she told me she wanted to get a DOT Sha. I remember when I just found out about dolls, I wanted a DOI Luke, hahaha. I think my doll collection would be totally different if I had money when I JUST found out about dolls. It's really cos I had to save up for almost half a year for my first doll that caused me to change my choice. In fact, I was pretty sure I wanted a El first, but I changed it to a dreaming Lishe boy cos I wanted El twins (who are now the characters I have my Miho twins in). I went to look at my old wishlist and it was filled with Delfs. Haha. I'm still quite sad that delf line is no longer in production by Luts or anywhere else. I won't have minded getting more delfs. Same for Migi. I can always own more Migi if only I have more money.

Okay, enough with the day-dreaming.

Oh yeah, Sion was much more popular with the fangirls/random girls at Cosfest who like dolls than Gabby or Dennis. He got more photos taken. But because he's heavier and cos I no longer have the stamina (yeah, right) to carry a doll around for long periods of time (I'm honestly just lazy, nothing else), I kept him after my lunch. Haha. Otherwise I think there'll be more gawkers/photos of him. ;)

I was rather busy with school related things this week (though school hasn't started) and when I went to check Nat's faceup progress on cats10's thread, he's 10% done. Haha. Not sure what that means, but her tumblr has a photo of him with msc coating along with her other commissions: here. He's at the top right most of the photo. :D

Now I need to go and pack the things I've sold for shipping...

I think he doesn't get enough love, cos he's currently on Nat's body while Nat's away, and it's a bitch to pose. Plus, Hew's faceup is kind of shiny, so it's harder to photograph him. Well... I still like this shot though.
