Today I scrubbed Nat's faceup off and sent him off for a new faceup. I forgot how difficult it is to remove faceups properly. I think part of the reason is cos I am using 70% isopropyl alcohol, so it's not very strong, and takes a lot of effort. :/ Anyway, after a lot of scrubbing, and prodding with a wooden toothpick at the crevices, I got Nat about as clean as I could:



He has this faint eyebrow mark on his left (our right), which cats10 very nicely offered to do some cleaning when he reaches her to see if it'll lighten. I'm hoping it will, but anyway, I think the new faceup will cover it up.

While doing all this, I'm reminded of why I love Migidoll heads. They're so nicely sculpted and I like to look at them with faceup and blank, haha. >_< I was looking at how his face gives nice shadows hehe. Yeah, maybe that was also partly why I took so long to finish removing the faceup.

On a random note, I'm starting to think Volks Heath looks good, when I used to think he has lips that aren't wide enough for the head. Anyway, it's not like I have the money to get anything new, and even if I did, doll clothes (and bodies for the floating heads) take priority. Argh, I find it so hard to find suitable clothes for them. Okay, suitable clothes that aren't SUPER expensive, especially after you count shipping in.

Cats10 just PM-ed me today for the faceup slot, so Nat's going to be going to her soon. I'll need to remove his faceup first, and I've not removed any faceups for a long time. Hope it'll be okay. Anyway, I think I was too particular with the faceup form. Argh. Sometimes I wish I'm able to do better faceups so I won't have to send them out, because I think I request a lot of things in a faceup... to the point where, I can pretty much say, heck, if I'm so particular, I should do it myself. But at the same time, I don't really have the patience for doing faceups, and I'm kind of lazy to get more materials for faceup as well. And knowing that I can't use paint properly makes me more reluctant to try faceuping more of my dolls. Mostly it's my own laziness, and that faceups take a LOT of concentration and that gives me a lot of pressure. I'm happier sending them off, actually. I kind of just need to re-realise that.

And then remember that.


So I put KIPS in both Nat's and Sion's bodies yesterday, and Nat poses better (a bit). Most of the problem is actually not with the KIPS but that the joints have very large holes, so I can't put KIPS without the KIPS getting sucked into the limbs itself. Yeah. Gabby's and Dennis's didn't give me so much problem for KIPS. And Sion's squeaky, but at least his joints won't get so shiny from all the friction now...I hope. Yea, it's a bit shiny at the shoulders already.

And I've not wrote this anywhere, but I ordered a Mihael head and Khal head from Leeke recently, even though I didn't want to get any more dolls this year. My collection went from 2 dolls+1 head to 4dolls+1head in less than half a year, and I really really don't want to keep increasing it, cos I feel that I'm starting to neglect some dolls, and it's just expanding too fast. I thought maybe I'll just try to get a Elfdoll Vivian head for Tiyana if I really wanted to increase the crew. I mean, at least Tiyana is a girl, so it'll add something different to the crew, rather than getting more boys. But Leeke has to go and announce that they're stopping their basic dolls, and I couldn't not get my Mihael. >.> I've been so set on Mihael for so long, even going to the extent of finding a character for him (he used to be Zeke but he's now supposed to be Kristolf), and I'm just not going to risk trying to find him on doa secondhand market, if I can. Khal... I'm not sure if I really like the mould, or if it's the default faceup that makes me like him. It's the lips. I like it, and sometimes I look at it and think I don't really like it. Owner photos so far haven't really convinced me, except for the ones with default faceups. So I went to order him with faceup heh. Hopefully he'll make a good Zeke. So yeah. I ended up spending the money on these heads instead of getting Hew his body.

Hew. Should probably get a Little Monica type B body... I'm thinking the lower torso joint of LM type A body is rather loose, so maybe type B will be better...? Well, anyway, it's going to wait for a while.

Dennis might get a new body. I'm trying to buy a SD13 body off the marketplace, but the seller's in the midst of a move, so she replies PMs really slowly. Don't know. But probably I'll get him the body from her, and sell his current one.

So after so long of thinking I'll not make a blog for dolly stuff, I decided to make one anyway. Yeah. Well, maybe this blog will turn out to be a flop like the rest of the ones I had (other than my regular one). Anyway, some history for this blog. It used to have a different URL, and was for my random short stories/writings, but I stopped cos it wasn't being updated, and I didn't like much of what I wrote anyway. Still don't. But well, I think I should write it out somewhere, probably. Then it changed URL to what it is currently (well, blogger took liberties and changed the end to ".sg" when I wrote ".com" but I'm going to ignore that), as a art commission page (flop, flop, flop), and now this. Maybe this will work out. Maybe not.

Well, that was a cheery first post, was it not? Maybe I'll actually write something doll related in the next post.
