It was hard to edit photos since the lighting condition varied alot, but it was fun to meet the owners and dolls in person! Z.agram joined the meet while she's on holiday (she came from South Korea to Singapore) which was really cool since I've been following her instagram for a while and it's nice to meet her in person. She also brought some gifts for us, which are the items she made.

Also, you might have noticed that my mocha Ryuzo was in the meet! He came just a few days before, which was super lucky? I haven't had time to edit his box opening photos, so I'll talk about him more in that post when I get to it, but I'm still surprised I managed to get him. K._shiro helped alot for that. Anyway, this new boy is named Pepper because I decided to be lame and name the two Ryuzos after my favourite band - Peppertones. So the Mocha Ryuzo is Pepper and the Milktea Rose Ryuzo I ordered will be Tones, lolol. I know. It's lame, but I've reached that stage in the hobby where I just give my dolls names randomly.. xD

Anyway, I thought I'll have more to say, but I guess I'm lazy, lol. Thanks for reading~

Brain dump/ramble  ahead.

So... I ordered a Milktea Rose Ryuzo when it was available last week because I sort of gave up trying to get a Mocha Ryzuo. BUT then yesterday, k.shiro told me she had a friend selling her Mocha Ryuzo and I went ahead to buy it. So now I'm waiting for 2 Ryuzos, a mocha and a milktea rose one. Haha. The mocha one has Pavel's faceup which I will keep, so I'm thinking of doing faceups on the mtr one. It would mean, after axing Hew from my crew cos I didn't need two of the same dolls, I would now have two Ryuzos. Ha. I don't know what to do with two of the same sculpt because only Danny and Andy needs that but I already decided to make my Volks Olivia Danny. So now the Ryuzos are supposed to be new characters?

So this morning I started thinking what to do with the characters of these new dolls. I mean Parker and Alfie both are not fixed either, character wise. So, I was toying with the idea of making them sorta a Leverage crew? If you didn't know, I love Leverage. It's an American show, but there's recently a Korean adaption and both are so fun. Anyway, think Ocean 11 but there's just 5 of them trying to con people, in a sorta modern Robin Hood help the people who can't help themselves by stealing from the rich/corrupt way.

So back to the dolls, Parker has to be the thief, for sure, because he's named after Parker who was a thief in the series (Leverage's Parker was a girl though). Then I was like, the two Ryuzos would be fun to have as grifters. Imagine a team with twin grifters, oh wow, the target won't know what hit them you know? Alfie could be the hacker cos he's already and awkward anxious dude and also cos he's paler than the rest so imma just take it as a hacker staying indoors alot lol. Then the question is, who would be the mastermind? I kinda want a girl for it just cos one thing I love about Leverage is that it has well written female characters you know? Freddie won't work (cos it's a different story) and also cos I decided to make him (her?) Danny instead. So I started imagining... Switch Taerin and Little Monica Sophia (dreaming eyes) would be cool. It'll be a tiny but fierce girl who plans shit. And then I was like, oh, this sounds like Elly lmao. I don't know if this would be Elly 2.0 but uh, yeah that's the extent of my daydream lol. I don't actually have enough space at home for so many dolls so I don't think this would really work? But uh. I wanted to put this train of thoughts down here in case I do wanna explore it next time.

Omg I forgot about the rosy white Switch Sohwa hybrid I wanted (I want him on an Iplehouse SID body). He's the hitter, of course. Pale, cos he's just born that way and he's kinda cute tbh, but lethal. It'll be a mix of Monsta X Wonho and Leverage's Elliot. My biases are showing lol.

I'm thinking I may make Freddie Danny instead. I don't think there's a suitable muscular female body that I like for her, and if I make her head (Volks Olivia) a boy, Danny would be the closest. The question is what body would she go on? I tried her on the SD17 boy body and man, the neck is way too thick. Anyway, it's a thought, not fully formed yet. We'll see how it goes.

I also impulsively ordered a head on Mandarake, and I'm now waiting for Mandarake's reply on whether the head is available. Not revealing the sculpt yet in case I don't get it but eh. It's been a while since I did this kind of impulsive purchase...

For planned purchases, tomorrow Switch will release their Milktea Rose skin Ryuzo, which I do intend to buy. That's partly what drove me to bring Freddie out and wonder what I'll do with her. Cos of the Ryuzo that I intend to buy + the potential head I may be getting, my mind has already decided I can't keep everyone I have. I think Caillen (Migi cynical ryu) would be getting the cut. But I'm already doing his faceup so I might just finish that and sell him? I dunno yet. Ah. This is why unplanned purchases mess things up. But it's also fun. I don't know.

He has a vampy vibe in these, which is accidental. I'm not sure what character he has yet, to be honest. But red suits him well. Also, these were taken while I was trying to get sales photos of some jewelry to go up on etsy. I'm still in the midst of editing photos for those, but if you're interested in the pieces I make, do keep an eye out! I think the last time I updated my etsy for doll jewelry was in 2016 lol, so if you've wanted something from me, this is probably a good time :)

Back to Parker, I like this wig on him, like a lot. It wasn't bought with the purpose of being his default wig but I think it is now his. And his eyes are grey, which was something I wanted, but they also look a bit blueish in photos and in real life, and that's unexpected but also so pretty? Overall I just find myself liking him alot more than I expected. I mean, his body was also accidental, since I was selling Hew and wanted to keep his body (a Little Monica Harmony body), and Parker happens to fit it, size and resin colour wise, so it became his. I think I was just not expecting much from Parker when I bought him, like I didn't buy him with an express purpose and vision in mind, but things have been mostly falling into place for him. It's really nice and fun and easy.

(This sort of sounds like what I'm realising is that Parker is an accidentally fun doll. Lol.)

Alfie, properly

Alfie says hi!

After so long, this boy finally gets some photos with my DSLR! I've been using my phone to snap photos of him a lot, mostly because he's easy to play with and photograph with my phone that's always with me.

Anyway, character-wise I'm still trying to figure Alfie out. He's comparatively new since I've had my other dolls for much longer and am therefore much more familiar with them. That said, doll-wise, Alfie is a dream! I've always liked the Waseon sculpt, and the Switch body is so easy to pose and dress. Basically, he looks good in alot of things, which is great :D

Dressing my dolls like Monsta X | SION x SHOOT OUT

I'm back with a 'get ready with me' style of video. This time I dressed Sion up with an outfit inspired by Monsta X (몬스타엑스) music video "Shoot Out" :D

I'm thinking of doing more of this for all my other dolls - yay or nay?
