Leeke Mihael, Khal, Akagidoll 66cm body and Granado Nuevo body

Did this quick comparison for someone on doa, so yeah. I was rushing this before going to watch TFIOS or I might have grabbed more dolls for size comparison. Anyway, Zeke (my Khal) is strangely heavy for such a thin dude.





Resin match wise they're not all the same shade. Leeke NS is generally lighter than everything, and Akagi is slightly yellower (not as yellow as my Migi NS-B and definitely not as yellow as my Volks NS, haha). Granado is darker than Akagi, and pinker. But with wigs and clothes etc, I don't notice the slight difference in colour anyway. But yeah, if you want a perfect match... mine don't match exactly. My Leeke is from 2012, Akagi and Granado are 2014, quite new (especially Granado).

That aside, I love the proportions, and how much closer the different body types make them more like my characters, which is the fun part of hybridising :)

Okayyyy, first of all, it's been more than a week since I got his body, but I've not had the time to upload the photos I took. Also, I was debating if I should wait until I get daylight photos for resin match, but I've not had the chance. Heck, I've not even taken proper shots of Kristolf though I do have some random phone shots of him on my instagram (which is crossposted on my tumblr). Anyway, on to the late (:/) box opening...

First of all, I think it's worth mentioning that I only saw the email for the shipping notice AFTER the box arrived. Haha. I don't know if it's because of a lag in the system or what, and it's not a huge problem for me, cos my mum's usually home to get my parcels, but yeah. Just something to note. I do check the website regularly, but the shipping probably updated when I didn't check as frequently, haha. (I ordered on May 1 and this arrived 11 June, if it helps. I usually don't remember when I order, but I know I ordered the first chance I could for their monthly body sale, so yeahh)


A nice and simple box. The patterns are a surprise but honestly I was just interested in seeing the body, so...






Inside everything is protected with foam, no pillows. I think the only other thing I got with hard foam and not bubblewrap/pillows is my elfdoll vivien head. Saves me the hassle of removing bubblewrap but I now have a load of foam to store. No space uhh. :(


See the (toes of the) heel feet between his normal fit in those foam holes below? Yeah. Apaarently it comes with the body and I don't think Kris will ever need it lol.


I ordered jointed hands too. Haven't changed it onto the body so far cos I'm lazy though, but when I've had the time to play with it, I'll see how it compares to the Soom ones Sion wears.

They gave some sponge and booklet but I didn't open them. Yeahh. Can you tell this box opening was rushed? Haha. I had to open it on a weeknight when I have work so yeaaa, I just wanted to get Kristolf onto his body.

And when I saw the body, I kind of guessed that Kris is just a bit paler than the body :/ Kris is a NS Leeke Mihael by the way. It's not terribly obvious in the front cos I blushed his face quite pink. But you'll see later...

And one that's his head on the body. His head fits fine. I kinda forgot to take shots with this camera in between, so no naked full body photos, haha. See his head is paler, but his cheek has enough blush so Kris looks fine. Which is good, cos I like this faceup and I don't want to redo it lol.
He stands super easily out of the box, which is really nice. Feels more poseable than most of my other dolls too.

I really like how he looks on this body, but I need more clothes for him! :/ Nothing I have is his size...even what he's wearing is just loose stuff for SDs lol...(super loose lol)

Ramblings about doa wiki

Saw on tumblr about how doa wiki is outdated, and I decided to go add some information to the sculpt pages...I usually only add information or do a new page on sculpts if I have them cos otherwise it's just ...meh. I don't know, I don't like to do that. But after I did a few (simple sections with like 5 lines of information total including basic stuff like eye size, wig size etc), I went to look through the main pages and man...I think it's really quite bare. The problem is, I'm not too sure what kind of wiki we want, really, and so far I've tried to write factually, as far as possible. Obvious I don't know much about some pages, but I'm just like, whut? at pages like "What is a bjd?" (just a 1 liner about how it's dolls with ball and socket joints), and I couldn't find anything about hybrids until I typed it into the search bar. Which basically means only people who know what hybrids are would search for it? Wow. Considering that I am really fond of hybridising (I'm sure I've said this more times than I want to count), I find it rather sad that it's not even linked on any of the main pages for people to just stumble upon, you know? But the question is, who reads the wiki pages, and why? And if it's mostly doll owners, then obviously there's not much point in making certain basic pages with so much information, but I think that wiki pages tend to bevery useful espeically for people who are coming across something for the first time (be it, "what's a bjd?" or "what xx company?"). If I have time I guess I'll go write more on the wiki...

Also, I realise there's like no photos in the pages...makes it boring, don't you think? I think photos can be added, but I've not went to check. Just a trend that people followed (myself included)...maybe?

Just photos of Caillen cos I was even contemplating if I should sell him for funds to get Freddie her body first, since Migi Ryu isn't that hard to get (okay, so he's a Cynical Ryu. Modded by me. But still), but the moment I got him out, put him on Hew's body and stuff, I don't want to sell him at all. Haha. I still think I could have modded his nose thinner at the tip but he looks good at this angle.





And a side profile cos I like his nose. I modded his nose and it's not perfect but these are the angles in which I was specifically looking at while modding so I do like it (cos otherwise I would have modded it for nothing, haha). By the way I modded his nose a long time ago, so I'm just writing about it cos I've been thinking if I should mod it somemore, but I like his current faceup so I don't think I'm gonna change it soon.

And the other reason why I don't want to sell him is cos, look at him, with Zeke and Freddie. He looks so good, even in this crappy shot. Zeke looks a bit messy lol, but the 3 of them together are just perfect. The 3 of them are in a polyamorous relationship, which I'm lazy to explain now so maybe next time...

The only thing that bothers me is the height differences, cos Freddie and Caillen are both supposed to be taller than this. Zeke is supposed to be about as tall as or slightly shorter/taller than Caillen and Freddie isn't supposed to be that much shorter than the 2 of them. But hey, both Freddie and Caillen are borrowing bodies, haha.



And I can't help it, but Caillen looks so satisfied here. Like, look at me, I got my cake and ate it :D Or something, haha.
