Company VS Crew tag

I did the company vs crew tag on instagram a few days ago, and since I crossposted it on tumblr, I figured I should put it here as well. Did the whole thing on my phone, so there's no words on the pictures, but it sure beats having to align everything manually on Photoshop. Gain a little, lose a little I guess? Haha. Anyway, all the top row photos are the company photos, bottom row are mine.

I arranged them roughly by storyline (like how I did on my doll profile page), then the order I got them, but to be honest, I forgot who I bought first so really, just ignore the lack of order in this thing. ._.

They totally changed the company photos for Luts Bliss and Migidoll Jina and I figured I'll use the new ones. The old Bliss photo is so feminine I thought he was a girl...

Used an old company photo of Miho for the one over Sion's photo, and the new company photo over Hew. Also, Zeke has a default faceup, but he still looks different from the company photo, lol.

These are all the same company photos as when I bought them. Elfdoll isn't producing Vivien anymore though, sadly. She looks so Asian in the stock photo but Tee (Tiyana) is so not... hahaha.

These 3 have the least flattering stock photos of the lot, haha. Joe's one is from the Nobilitydoll rerelease, and like, they totally can use better lighting in the photos eh... Freddie's forgiven cos Volks released her really long ago and their faceups then weren't that fantastic. There's nothing particularly wrong with Elly's company photo except I'm just not a fan of that school girl style. But overall, put these 3 company photos side by side, and I'm super glad my dolls don't look like the company styling cos it's really not my taste...

This photo onwards is the other storyline. I.e. all the 6 dolls in the above photo and the next one are not in Gabby's story. It's not a big thing, I just wanted to point it out. Jack's the only SD in this story so far, although I want to get Danny, Jack's human/friend/master.

Benja (the OC my Peroth used to be until I made him Joe) is also from this storyline, but given my lack of space, I don't think I will be buying a SD doll to replace Benja. To be honest, this story has 5 main SD/adult characters: Andy, Benja, Kate, Danny, Jack. But whatever. I'll not dollify all of them...(I hope)

Yeah, but anyway, back to the tag, Cypher has a default faceup, but it's cool. Jelly's default is a praying mantis which always amuses me. (Also, I totally won't mind a tan Jadeite as a human boy too...sigh. Funds and space are limited though.)

I know there's 2 blank ones which is not helpful in a company vs crew tag, but amuse me. I wanted to bring the photos up to a multiple of 3. Pebbles (or Pebboos as I nicknamed her) looks different mostly cos of the eye mod and super small eyes. The Roar fp has her wig and eyes so she kind of has a direction, but no body to use, and the Lilin default I'm thinking might be a nice cheeky boy... we'll see. I don't have much to say about the company photos for these, lol. Except that I couldn't get a higher resolution to use. So yeah, sorry for the blurriness.

Also, I sanded the eyebrows off the 2 unnamed fp last Sunday, and also sanded most of the surface of the roar plate cos she's very shiny. Didn't take photos cos I was lazy but yeah. I can technically do their faceups anytime now, but I don't really know what I want them to look like yet, so maybe not.

And that's basically my whole crew for now. :D 18 dolls if you count heads and fp (15 full dolls, 1 floating head, 2 fp). Hopefully the photos amuse you and also show you how different faceups, wig and eye colors change a doll, and maybe my ramblings amuse you...? (I hope so. I spent quite a while typing. I didn't write all these on my tumblr and instagram)

Some photos of Freddie I took the other day. She's borrowing Dennis' Volks SD13 boy body here, but I stuffed her top with some cloth so she doesn't look so flat, haha.

I really think she needs a thicker body to match her sporty tomboy look, but alas, even if I get a small chested girl body, most of them are too thin. I'm hoping boypink's 60body will eventually be made and sold, if they do choose to cast and sell it. But I mean, who knows? For now I'm still leaving her as a floating head because I can't decide on her body. I chickened out of the Impldoll Star Female body because it's still a bit thin? Like the boypink's 60body would probably be the closest to what I want for Freddie, relatively the same height as my shorter boys (60cm ish) but buff for a girl. Although I don't mind her being taller, as long as she's shorter than Zeke (66cm). But the buffness is important. The other option I was thinking of is maybe modding a Volks SD13 boy body to have a thinner waist and small boobs. But it'll need me to colour match the epoxy so... it's not a very good option for now. Lol.

Anyway, I don't know, I'm super hesitant about dolly purchases because I'm mostly broke and also lazy so. I'm just rambling. I would probably end up changing my mind at some point again, lol.

Instead of typing things on the blog, I tried talking about hobby stuff in a video. It's 30 minutes long, and took me like almost 1 whole day to upload, so I probably won't make anything so damn long again. Lol. But I might keep the talking format if I feel like it/if people like it. It's faster to just type on this blog though. But the video lets you listen to me talk while watching me change my dolls and stuff so...

Pretty pictures of Hew, because I think I always end up neglecting him for Sion? He's wearing Joe's previous wig (the one Caillen used to wear, before I swapped their wigs), and I think he suits it. I will probably leave it on him, since Joe's wearing the purple one, haha.

Also, that dab though. I wanted to try it, because the whole whiteish background reminds me of some photoshoot setup for random kpop posters, so... dabs. It took a while to get his arms to hold it, without his legs going funny on me. And look at those playful poses! I think it's the first time in a long long while I actually tried posing him in different ways (I rejected some of the poses during editing), and I've to say, twisting his upper torso from his lower one gives him a skinnier looking waist, which looks really nice in photos? (e.g. the 2nd and last photo). Try this posing trick if you want :)

I feel like with this new (okay, no longer new, but I've hardly shared it) faceup and new (ish) wig, Hew's coming together much better than he used to. At least how he's clearly not living under his twin's shadow, with the whole emo, black hair, grumpy face thing going on. Sion's still like that, though he's currently lying in pieces because I wanted to dress him today, but I ended up taking him apart to restring him (he's too loose). And while doing that, I noticed how dirty he is, with the dust inside his limbs, so I went to wash him with water and a magic sponge. So he's currently drying on a towel until he's dry enough to be restrung back, after which I will dress him in an uncharacteristic outfit I picked for him today, just for fun (it's mostly pastel and light colours, lol).

Sorry if I sound rambly, but I suddenly have dolly feels, and actually did dolly stuff today, so I thought I'll write it all before I forget.

Remember the get ready with me videos? Here's the photos I took that day of Joe and Caillen after changing them. Joe's looking less and less like the sunshine Cali beach boy lol. I blame Kpop. But ohhh well, the Peroth sculpt is really nice for the whole cool, cat eyed boy look, so I don't know, I think I'll keep him like this. Haha.

And Caillen is just wearing whatever I felt like putting him in. His wig is kind of a mess, but hey, I photographed both of them that day in the evening when the sun was going down, so I had to quickly make use of daylight while there still was so...









I think dressing them is the only thing I've done with them recently. Actually getting around to doing things with them isn't too hard (I unstrung and washed Sion's body today), but the initial inertia of doing it is very high, so I've not really been doing doll stuff lately. I did take more photos today, which I'll update soon. :)

I have the tendency to spam post and not post at all, because I can't stand not posting something when I already have it all edited and ready in my computer. Anyway, it's been really long since I changed my dolls, so it's a good thing. The rest of them are still waiting for my lazy self to do something with them.

I also recently did faceups for a local owner.

The first one is a Doll Leaves Andy in grey skin. It's a nice skin tone, and I managed to draw eyelid creases properly for this commission. He has removable ears, which was interesting to see in person. But they kept sticking together while I was spraying, which is annoying.









The other faceup is a Resinsoul Ni (her owner wasn't super sure if this is the sculpt name), who's actually quite cute. I don't do such styles on my own dolls (all my 1/6 dolls aren't cutesy this way lol).
