Decided to wipe Kristolf's faceup and send him to Puteri. I tried to save his old faceup but nope, the lips were just too dark and I couldn't take it.

Random Jack

He doesn't have a wig, which is why he's wearing furry hat with a hair extension thingie I made pretending to be his hair. And he has a NS body (which doesn't match well) but that's not why he has scarf. The scarf is to hold the earflaps of the hat together so it doesn't show that he's bald. All that trouble. >.>

Anyway, this is Jack. He's from a different storyline from all my other dolls, and it's set in a distant world. Some of his backstory:
He used to have a different name when he was created. His master requested for a clone of himself, an exact replica, right down to the tiny scar he has on his right eyebrow, even though clones can't get injured and hence cannot have scars. Thus, he was "born". Created, more like it. His master gave him the tattoo on the cheek, which he hides under his fringe, so everyone will always remember who is the real him, and who is the clone. He followed the name his master (the human who he was a clone of) gave him for a long time, but it has been so long since his master died, so long...that he doesn't remember much. So he wandered the streets, never staying on one planet for too long, in case he was discovered to be a clone. For in this current time, clones were unethical, and made for 1 purpose only: research. He later met Danny, whose friend/lover just died. Danny for some reason, decided to give him the name Jack. The name of Danny's now dead friend/lover. And so Jack was re-born.

Also, the 2nd storyline is supposed to be written by Tiyana. So TECHNICALLY, Jack is Tiyana's doll, haha. But Tiyana isn't even a doll in my house, so I'm just talking too much and confusing people. So just know that Jack is a clone, if you didn't understand everything I've wrote so far.

He's getting a wig soon, I hope. And eyes. He's gotta return Nat's eyes when Nat comes home (cats10 shipped him already :D), so I bought some Eyeco greens for him.

I just bought and collected a Fdoll body from a local doll owner today for my Zaoll Muse head (which arrived yesterday). Anyway, I'm still pretty amazed by how fast it is to buy and collect stuff by meetup in Singapore. It's crazily amazing. :D It's how Dennis got his old body, and how Jack (Muse) just got his. Anyway, the only problems I have with the Fdoll body is that 1. it's yellower than Jack, even though his head was painted to match Volks NS but I'm still okay with this, sort of, 2. it has button nipples. They look like 2 lumps stuck on his chest as an afterthought. I'm wondering if I should sand them but the issue is that the body is yellowed, so maybe sanding the chest means I'll have to do the whole torso ...and maybe even the body. Argh. 3. His hands are noodle-y. *Closes an eye...well, at least it's not that bad from some angles....

The thing is, it was really cheap. 150SGD. Hence. And I really want to get Jack a body.

Okay, anyway, the bigger problem now is that I don't have any wig for Jack. Not even 1 in his size that he can borrow. Stupid 7.5inch head. All the wigs I have at home eats his head. Boo. I just PM-ed thereif so hopefully he'll get 1 wig soon. I DID order from S&M for him, but that will take longer to come to me. So thereif, it is. I can try the shaved side wig effect on the plain black one I'm ordering from thereif. Hee.

Yeah, no photos cos he's bald. And cos my brother is using the computer with Photoshop.

Damn gloss

I glossed his lips cos I didn't like how he looked like he doesn't have an upper lip. But as usual, maybe because I don't seal enough msc after I'm done with a faceup, the gloss screwed up his lip colour. The 2 most obvious mistakes are that his right upper lip looks like there's a cut on the outer edge of the gloss, and that his lower lip, the left side, it looks like there's a spot without colour. Like he has a ulcer or something, lol.

But I'm not going to change his faceup, I think, cos I like the eyebrows, and I'm not sure I can get them right again. Anyway, with the right camera angle and lighting, he looks passably fine, and that's not even mentioning the "patch" tool on Photoshop. I was just kind of sad that now that he looks like he has an upper lip, the gloss has to go fuck up his lip colour. D:

He needs his own wig. I want a red head in my crew, haha. In the meantime, Kristolf is borrowing Gabby's wig.







By the way, he's borrowing a Little Monica type B body, which is good proportion wise, but the resin doesn't really match. Leeke NS is pinkish while LM is more creamy/yellow. Zeke looks kind of fine on it, but that's mainly cos I blushed Kristolf more pink (er, I only have brown pastels which I thought would make him yellower, not pinker, lol). But yeah, body woes. Not like I have money left to get him or anyone else a body now. So I'm going to just get wigs and such. Hehe.

I realised yesterday that my friend's favourite artist/BL writer (she writes in Chinese by the way) is Heisejinyao which is kind of related to HZ-Bjd. Not sure if the artist made the bjds herself or found someone to do it, but I was looking at her drawings (which have fantastic colouring, that I'll never be able to accomplish) and the bjds, and wondering how they can be so different.

Spiritdoll's drawing and dolls are quite similar, imo, by the way.

Anyway, it's just random rambling cos I can't progress with Kris's faceup since it's still raining. High humidity=shiny face.

New boys!

I came home yesterday to a package that I didn't expect. I was like, eh, is this my Muse head? Then I realised it's from Leeke, which didn't email me that the heads have shipped, lol. So now I have Zeke (Khal) and Kristolf (Mihael) with me. Hehe. Zeke is a bit hard to fathom, and I've not really gotten to playing around with him. Mostly cos he's borrowing Hew's body and I kind of wanted Hew back on his own body soon. Hew hasn't gotten new photos after he got his body...Yeah, I know. I've been getting too many packages recently to properly play with everyone. :/ Gahh.

Oh yeah, for those who're interested, Leeke NS DOES NOT match Little Monica NS. Leeke is much much pinker. D:

Anyway, let me introduce the new boys. The grumpy one is Zeke, who's a computer geek. He thinks he likes Alfie (Gabby's younger sister) and writes about her on his blog all the time (anonymously, of course). He doesn't realise until later that Alfie likes him too.


And the one below is Kristolf, Alfie's current boyfriend. I'm in the midst of doing his faceup, and it's the first freckled faceup I'm doing. Hope I won't accidentally overblush him. It's now raining so I can't continue his faceup...D:

Little Monica Type A and B body comparison

Anyway, that took me a bit longer than expected to do, cos it's rather rainy these few days.

I've not taken any decent photos of Hew with his new body yet though. :/

Hew's Little Monica type B body arrived a few days ago. I've not gotten around to resizing the photos from the quick box opening, but I'm just really happy with how prominent his collarbones are, even compared to Sion's body (LM type A). I'm not too sure why type A and B's collarbones differ so much, lol. And type B has a much flatter tummy too. I poked Sion and told him he was fat, which isn't entirely true, but isn't exactly false if you compared it with Hew's. Haha. Yeah, I do talk to my dolls sometimes, mostly to tease them. I don't have conversations with them though, cos that will be weird.

Cats10 just PMed me a photo of Nat's faceup and I am so happy with it. He's smiling so widely, like what I usually draw him as. :D I can't wait to see him all finished and glossed up. Wooooo~

Tree Design brief review

I didn't intend to do a review but I was opening the clothes with my camera at my side, so I figured, why not?


Tree Design pretty much shipped my order ON the day I ordered and paid for the item, which really impresses me. They shipped the clothes in this small cardboard box. I was kind of surprised that the tape they use tears really easily once you cut it. But I tried tearing without cutting first and found it impossible, so I think it's a nice type of tape to use, for people like me who hate cutting apart the tape. Haha.


Sion was kind of just draped in his jacket waiting lol. I was lazy to put him back in when I'm going to change him out.


The items I ordered, plus a free gift. The white tiger shirt is a tshirt by the way. The sleeves are folded behind. The ice-blue jeans in the middle is really really a nice colour. It's currently the lightest pair of jeans I have for them. :D


Anyway, this was actually the first thing I saw when I opened the box, except this green sticker was facing downwards, and my first thought was, "Oh crap, I don't think I ordered this! Did they mess up my order?" Hahaha. But yeah, turned it around and found a gift :D


A nice touch is the tag they have for ALL the items. You have to cut the thing off/pull it out as you would for human clothing. It looks nice, but frankly after cutting the tag off for 6 items, I was kind of wishing they didn't put that tag thing.


Tag on the inside too. I do love the label in the shirt though. Cos I don't need to cut it away, haha.

And some photos of Sion (Little Monica type A body) wearing the jeans. It's called joyful jeans on their website, I think (you'll know why when you see the back pocket). It's tight on SD13 as shown on their website, so I was pretty much counting on it to be skinnies for LM. And I was right :D I got out of the baggy jeans phase for my dolls for now.

But the back is a bit loose. I don't really mind though, if it means Dennis (who's on a SD13 body) can wear it too. And yes, the brown tag says "2010 NEW, Tree Design" and you see the reason why it's called "Joyful jeans"? ;)

Hew's actual body (he's using Nat's right now) is shipped! :D So he'll be getting his own body soon, woohoo. LM type B. I'll be doing a comparison between LM type A and B hopefully sometime next week after Hew's body arrives. Yup. And Nat's faceup is at 50% now. I'm missing Nat so much. :< More so when I look at this group photo without him.

My orders from tree design arrived today! So fast, haha. I'm blogging without even taking any photos of anything, because I'm really pleasantly surprised by the fact that they gave an extra tshirt as a gift :D The shirt they gave is priced at 19USD, so I'm really quite surprised. I mean, as a free gift, you can always give the cheapest item e.g. the tank top, and you'll still make your customers really happy, no? But now I'm SUPER happy, hahaha. Mainly cos I wanted the tshirt too, but didn't want to spend too much. :\

Okay, update: I just bought a Zaoll Muse head :D
He has no teeth part, so I'll need to come up with something for that. The previous owner used white eye putty, but I want to see if I can use air dry clay to make something more permanent (less prone to me redoing all the time?). I've got no body for him to use, cos everyone has thick necks. 10cm is the thinnest, except for Gabby, who is white skin and uses the type 2 neck mechanism that's a bitch to get off. So yeah. Unless I can find a cheap body for him, he'll probably be bodiless for a while. Join the floating heads crew (2 of which are still not here. Leeke probably has a backlog??).

I don't know why but throughout the whole shoot, I felt like Sion wearing these specs, even though they aren't round, looks like Harry Potter. If Harry has a lip piercing, that is. And I keep thinking, damn, and Gabby has blond hair like Draco. I like Draco-Harry pairing more than Harry-Draco though, so.

Yeah, that's the sort of weird thoughts that go on in my head while I was taking photos.

I just ordered from tree design (click for English site) today and they've shipped the orders out already?! It's the first time any company shipped so fast. Tracking says it's posted only, but still. :D Maybe my dolls will actually get some new clothes to wear before I go for Uni, where I won't be bringing them cos I feel it's unsafe to leave them in the hostel.

I brought Sion to Cosfest yesterday, but barely took any photos. I did see some local doll owners though. Also spoke to this girl (can't remember who) who was either cosplaying or a friend of a cosplayer, and she told me she wanted to get a DOT Sha. I remember when I just found out about dolls, I wanted a DOI Luke, hahaha. I think my doll collection would be totally different if I had money when I JUST found out about dolls. It's really cos I had to save up for almost half a year for my first doll that caused me to change my choice. In fact, I was pretty sure I wanted a El first, but I changed it to a dreaming Lishe boy cos I wanted El twins (who are now the characters I have my Miho twins in). I went to look at my old wishlist and it was filled with Delfs. Haha. I'm still quite sad that delf line is no longer in production by Luts or anywhere else. I won't have minded getting more delfs. Same for Migi. I can always own more Migi if only I have more money.

Okay, enough with the day-dreaming.

Oh yeah, Sion was much more popular with the fangirls/random girls at Cosfest who like dolls than Gabby or Dennis. He got more photos taken. But because he's heavier and cos I no longer have the stamina (yeah, right) to carry a doll around for long periods of time (I'm honestly just lazy, nothing else), I kept him after my lunch. Haha. Otherwise I think there'll be more gawkers/photos of him. ;)

I was rather busy with school related things this week (though school hasn't started) and when I went to check Nat's faceup progress on cats10's thread, he's 10% done. Haha. Not sure what that means, but her tumblr has a photo of him with msc coating along with her other commissions: here. He's at the top right most of the photo. :D

Now I need to go and pack the things I've sold for shipping...

I think he doesn't get enough love, cos he's currently on Nat's body while Nat's away, and it's a bitch to pose. Plus, Hew's faceup is kind of shiny, so it's harder to photograph him. Well... I still like this shot though.
